| Swedish Technology Foresight
is being carried out in partnership by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering
Sciences (IVA), the Swedish National Board for Industrial and Technical
Development (NUTEK), the Federation of Swedish Industries and the Swedish
Foundation for Strategic Research.
The Royal Swedish Academy
of Engineering Sciences (IVA)
The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (Kungl. Ingenjörsvetenskapsakademien
or IVA) is a network of experienced and highly competent professionals
in the fields of engineering and economics, who seek to stimulate contacts
between disciplines and across national borders. In cooperation with the
business and academic communities, the Academy initiates and proposes
measures to strengthen Sweden's industrial skills base and competitiveness.
The Swedish National
Board for Industrial and Technical Development (NUTEK)
The Swedish National Board for Industrial and Technical Development (Närings-
och teknikutvecklingsverket or NUTEK) was Sweden's central public agency
for industrial policy issues, entrusted with stimulating the development
of the business sector throughout the country. NUTEK's responsibilities in
connection with Foresight activities have now been taken over by the new
organization VINNOVA.
The Federation of Swedish Industries
The Federation of Swedish Industries (Sveriges Industriförbund) presents
proposals on what should be done to improve the industrial climate in
Sweden. There are 17 trade associations that belong to the Federation.
Through these associations, the Federation has some 7,000 member companies.
The Federations responsibilities have now been taken over by the Confederation
of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv).
The Swedish
Foundation for Strategic Research
The purpose of the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (Stiftelsen
för Strategisk Forskning) is to support research in natural science, engineering
and medicine. The Foundation shall promote the development of vigorous
research environments of the highest international class and of importance
for the development of Sweden's future competitiveness.
