About Swedish Technology Foresight
Organizational structure

Swedish Technology Foresight was headed by a Steering Committee with overall responsibility for all sub-areas. The Steering Committee had the following duties:

  • to be responsible for the project's overall strategic issues
  • to establish a project description
  • to recruit the Program Manager
  • to be responsible for the formation of an Advisory Committee
  • to serve as the main client of the various panels
  • to appoint the panel Chairpersons
  • to approve the composition of the panels and other working groups
  • to approve the final report
  • to continuously ensure that the aims and objectives of the project are being followed

The Advisory Committee consisted of representatives of various organizations in Swedish public life. The Advisory Committee was headed by the Program Manager. The Advisory Committee has met as needed during the project period. The duties of this committee were:

  • to ensure that important interested parties in Swedish public life are integrated into the process of carrying out Technology Foresight
  • to take part in the process of appointing panel participants
  • to achieve a deep commitment and support for Technology Foresight in their respective organizations
  • to serve as a sounding board for the panels
  • to achieve broad dissemination of the project's findings

The Program Manager was in charge of the overall operative management, coordination and synthesis of Swedish Technology Foresight. The Program Manager reported to the Steering Committee.

The work of the project was carried out by eight specialized panels, each with up to fifteen experts, according to an established project plan and methodology. Each panel is headed by a Chairperson and a Project Manager. They were jointly responsible for operative management, coordination within the panel and with other panels and the compilation of reports. The Chairperson reported to the Program Manager.
